Perkara-perkara dalam internet yang boleh melakukan fungsi-fungsi IT :

1.    E-mail
          - Enable user to send and receive messages to other users through internet
           via computer.
            Varies services provided by E-mail such as :
            - send text-based message to any other users
            - attach computer files to text messages
            - send to multiple recipients at one time
            - reply or forward messages
            - subscribe to electronic mailing list

2.    irc (internet relay chat)
          -  whatever a user typed will instantly be sent around the world so that other
           users can respond to the message.

3.    buletin board
           - An electronic notice board in internet.

4.    ftp (files transfer protocol)
          - It allows files to be transferred between different kinds of computers,
           without regard to operating system used by the computers or even how
           they are connected.

5.    Newsgroup
            - Newsgroups are like notice board in electronic form.  Just like any
             notice board, the newsgroup is used as a means of communication
             for users all over the world to contribute information, normally termed
             as posting an article and reading information posted by others.

6.    Web browser
           -  A web browser allows users to search and navigate into the internet which
            is commonly known as WWW (World Wide Web).

Information transfer bermaksud pemindahan maklumat.  Secara praktikal, software/perisian yang tersebut di atas dapat melakukan fungsi ini, iaitu   E-mail, irc (chit-chat), buletin board, ftp, newsgroup, browser dan lain-lain.

KONSEP "DATA FILE COMPRESSION"  ialah mengecilkan fail-fail dengan program/perisian seperti WINZIP untuk menjimatkan ruangan simpanan serta senang untuk dihantar/ditansferkan.( Compressing files to save space, makes it easy to group files and make the transporting and copying these files faster)

 KONSEP "FILES TRANSFER PROTOCOL"  ( ftp) ialah menggunakan software FTP untuk memindah maklumat daripada satu fail ke fail yang lain  dengan lebih pantas.

 "KONSEP "NEWSGROUP" merupakan salah satu jenis program memindah maklumat.  Dalam NEWSGROUP, sekumpulan manusia akan membincangkan topik yang sama di bawah satu subjek. Dengan secara tidak langsung, pemindahan maklumat akan berlaku.
